The annual Zayed Charity Run to be worked off in Abu Dhabi on November 19

Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Higher Organizing Committee of the Zayed Charitable Run signed a cooperation and partnership agreement in organising the annual event at the Erth Hotel on Tuesday.

The Zayed Charity Run this year will be held under the generous patronage of the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The annual event first launched in 2001 in Abu Dhabi is a tribute to the Founding Father of the Nation the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may God rest his soul).

The Charity Run had a few editions held in New York and Egypt, the organisers using sports as the best way to support humanity and spread goodness centred in creating love and peace.

The agreement was signed by the Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the marathon His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi and Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, at the Erth Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

Al Awani revealed the upcoming edition of the Charity Run will be held in Abu Dhabi on November 19, starting from the Erth Hotel (formerly Armed Forces Officers Hotel and Club) premises.

Registration for the marathon will be open from August 1 while the prizes for all categories and age groups is to be announced in due course.
