The 2021 Spartan World Championship was held, for the first time outside the USA, in the Middle East, in conjunction with the celebrations of the 50th National Day of the UAE.

4,500 participants from more than 50 countries competed in the tournament.

Individual: 10 km

  • Gregory Basilico succeeded in snatching the title of the men’s elite race by finishing first after completing the 21 km (Beast) race with its 30 obstacles in 2 hours, 1 minute, and 3 seconds, outperforming Czech athlete Richard Hynek who came second with a time of 2:02:37, and Thibault Jean who finished third in 2:04:18.

  • In the women’s elite category, Russian Alisa Petrova won the title after achieving first place with a time of 2:22:58, with a significant lead over American Nicole Mericle who took second place, and Czech athlete Zuzana Kocumova who came third.

  • The Elite Team Relay World Championship (3 km) resulted in the Russian team—composed of Sergey Perlygin, Alisa Petrova, and Igor Belousov—winning first place with a time of 20:32. The French team—composed of Jeremy Gachet, David Labrosse, and Lesly Legion—came second, and the Slovakian team—composed of Peter Sinegia, Jan Fleder, and Zsóster Hortobágyiová—came third.
